Jeff Thorp has served as Managing Principal of Sonoma Capital Management since its inception in 2006. From 2000 - 2006 Mr. Thorp managed a predecessor family partnership entity.  

Jeff received a B.A. in Economics from the University of California at Irvine in 1985, and a Masters in Business Administration and Masters in Business Taxation from the University of Southern California in 1988 and 1991. 

Mr. Thorp has served on the board of directors of MB Bancorp, Madison Bank of Maryland, Manhattan Soccer Club and 3 Creek Ranch HOA.

From 1996 - 2000, Mr. Thorp was a Senior Vice President in Institutional Sales with Amroc Investments, LLC and Amroc Securities, LLC, specializing in trading the public and private securities and claims of foreign and domestic issuers.

From 1994 - 1996, Mr. Thorp was a Senior Managing Director of Institutional Sales, co-head of the Los Angeles office of M.J. Whitman Inc., specializing in trading the equity and debt securities of troubled issuers.

Prior to Amroc and M.J. Whitman, Mr. Thorp worked at Strome Susskind Investment Management, L.P., where he was an analyst and trader specializing in value oriented and event driven investing as well as distressed securities.
